The Szymanowski Museum in 'Atma'

In this piece, original musical material of Karol Szymanowski’s Mazurka Op. 50 no.1 is transformed with representations of DJ culture modifications like loops, or short cuts of audio samples. Though the sounds that I used are entirely based on this Mazurka, the context of the material and its function has changed. Szymanowski’s piano piece is, likewise the early 20th century movies in Martin Arnold’s video works, only the starting point for the tessellated, stretched rhythmical structure.
