The title of the piece is directly related to the East German electronics manufacturer. Products, which enabled to gather a huge amount of information, regarding almost every aspect of GDR citizen’s life, were a result of an enormous governmental outlay. Simultaneously, the pioneers of electronic music were working in the underground on avant-garde instruments, struggling with limited resources. Such a disparity between the artist and authoritarian power became a starting point for the composition. Referring to the phenomenon of Ostalgie and modern attempts to the reconstruction of the lost instruments' sound legacy, I tried to create the specific situation of the sonic experiment, in which human, not machine, is the most significant sound generator. The essential part of the piece is the relation between the dehumanised tape voice and musicians, who by the division into groups are creating a virtual synthesizer.
